We recently refreshed the navigation on pgsnys.online to make the site easier to use for members and visitors alike. Most changes are subtle β€” a few renamed labels and reorganized menus β€” but one is worth calling out: the new Member Portal.

Member Portal is now its own item in the top navigation menu and serves as a central hub for all member-only resources. From there, members can access:

  • Meeting Recordings & Handouts β€” recordings of past PGSNYS presentations, along with available handouts and archived session chat
  • Searchers Newsletter (Recent Issues) β€” the most recent five years of our newsletter, exclusive to members
  • Getting Started with Polish Genealogy β€” our Genealogy 101 presentation and companion handout for those new to Polish research
  • Surnames & Villages of Interest β€” a member-submitted resource to help you find others researching the same families and locations
  • Research Assistance β€” request one-on-one help from experienced PGSNYS volunteers, available in person (Western New York), by phone, or via Zoom

These resources are password-protected and available to PGSNYS members. If you’ve misplaced the member password, please email us at membership@pgsnys.org.

A few other navigation changes worth noting: Databases is now a top-level menu item for quicker access to our indexed historical records. Research remains top-level and now includes a Newsletter Archive (formerly “Publications”) where older issues of Searchers β€” beyond the most recent five years β€” can be found. The former “Membership” menu has been split into Join Us (for prospective members) and the new Member Portal.

Not yet a member? Everything described above β€” the recordings, the newsletter, the research assistance, and a community of people who share your passion for Polish roots β€” is available to you as a PGSNYS member. Join Us to get started.
