By now, our members should have received our Summer 2025 issue of the Searchers, which was delivered this month in electronic and hard copy form. This latest issue has been uploaded to the Members Only section of the website, where members have exclusive access to the most recent issues of Searchers from the past five years (15 issues). Older issues (Summer 1989 through _________________) are available to the general public on our Publications page.

Remember that our Winter 2025 issue will be our 100th issue of Searchers, and to celebrate, we’re planning a theme of Parties, Drinking, Prohibition and General Merry-Making. The editor is seeking anecdotes, photos, stories, and articles that showcase the good times of Polish immigrants having fun at home, in taverns, parks, or other establishments. Maybe your relatives or neighbors ran a speakeasy or had an annual Christmas party? Maybe your relatives formed a band or danced? Made cakes? Played baseball or wrestled for amusement? Maybe you are thinking of something else along these lines? Send us your stories and ideas! The deadline for submissions is Nov 1, 2025.

As always, we welcome feedback. Please let us know if there’s something you’d like to read about in a future edition of Searchers, whether it’s website tutorial, a Polish custom or tradition that you’d like to learn more about, or a particular tool or method for breaking through brick walls in your family tree. Would you like to be interviewed for an upcoming Member Spotlight? We love getting to know our members and their research interests better, so write to us at Searchers@pgsnys.org and share your family stories and genealogical journey!
