Summary: The celebration of Easter, commemorating the Resurrection of the Lord, is one of the most anticipated celebrations for Christians for centuries. Since the adoption of Christianity in Poland, preparations for Easter begin with the period of 40 days of Lent. Both are rich in customs and traditions that have withstood the test of time. Join us in this presentation  as we move through the serious 40 days of  Lenten which culminate in the joy of Easter Sunday.

Presenter Bio: Sophie Hodorowicz Knab is the author of numerous books on Polish customs and traditions including Polish Customs, Traditions and Folklore, Polish Country Kitchen Cookbook, Polish Herbs, Flowers and Folk Medicine, and her latest endeavor, released in January 2023, Spirit of Place: The Roadside Shrines of Poland.
