Following the loss of PGSNYS Vice-President, Maureen Gleason, on January 20, 2025, our Board was left with a vacancy. Article V Section 7 of our bylaws states, “Should any officer’s position become vacant prior to the end of the elected term, the Board of Directors in its sole discretion, may: a) leave the position vacant until the start of the next term; b) appoint a member in good standing to fill the position until the next scheduled elections; or c) call for a special election for the vacant position for the duration of completing the current term.

Our Board of Directors voted to promote current Trustee, Gregory Wozniak, to the role of Vice-President for the duration of Maureen Gleason’s term, which was to expire in December 2026. To fill Greg’s current role as Trustee, which also expires December 2026, the Board appointed PGSNYS member, Carol Fortman, as a new Trustee. Carol will be featured in an upcoming “Member Spotlight” feature in our Searchers newsletter so our members can get to know her better.
