In Polish culture, All Souls’ Day, known as Zaduszki, is a solemn day to remember and pray for the souls of departed loved ones. People visit the cemeteries where their family members are laid to rest, and light candles on the graves.

PGSNYS will be participating once again in the annual Polish Ancestors’ Day and All Souls’ Mass which will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Resurrection Mausoleum at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd., Cheektowaga, New York. Starting at 1:00 pm, PGSNYS volunteers will be available to provide research assistance, along with Barbara Noreck Ruppert of Grave Finder at St. Stan’s. Imported Polish cemetery candles (znicze) will be available for purchase, and the event will include cemetery tours which highlight the graves of notable Polish Americans buried at the cemetery. A special Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 pm at the mausoleum, with music provided by the Chopin Singing Society. Come join us, and connect with your heritage through this meaningful Polish tradition!
