Presenter bio: Nicole Lodyga Pohancsek is passionate about uncovering family histories and tracing ancestral roots. From an early age, Nicole exhibited a keen interest in her own family’s genealogy, spending countless hours poring over old documents, photographs, and stories passed down through generations. Recognizing the value of preserving personal narratives and historical context, she dedicated herself to helping others unravel the mysteries of their own family trees.

As a firm believer in the power of preserving cultural heritage, Nicole actively contributes to the Polish Genealogical Society of New York State, sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. Nicole has been a member of PGSNYS since 2011. She has played many roles in PGSNYS, including serving for three years as President (2017-2019), and as Secretary for one year (2020). She strives to inspire individuals to connect with their roots, fostering a deeper understanding of their identity and a sense of belonging. She approaches each project with a genuine desire to help others uncover their family stories, understanding the emotional significance of discovering one’s heritage. She remains committed to unraveling the mysteries of the past for future generations.
