Come join us for an exciting opportunity to discover the wealth of genealogical resources available to you at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library’s Grosvenor Room, home to the Library’s Special Collections for genealogy, local history, maps, music, and rare books! This event will start off with a tour of the Grosvenor Room focused on Polish genealogy, followed by a tour of the closed stacks. Next, a hands-on computer orientation will teach you how to access the Grosvenor Room website and blog to view recorded classes, the library’s digitized materials, the library’s subscription databases (including Ancestry.com and FamilySearch!) and more. There will also be time for open research in the Grosvenor Room.

Please note that attendance at this event is limited. There are 20 seats available. To reserve your place, please click here to register.

The Grosvenor Room is located inside the Central Library (downtown Buffalo). For information about getting there via public transit, as well as parking near the library, please visit the library’s information page.

The Central Library is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library, which means that most FamilySearch digital collections with restricted access (“camera plus key” icon) that are not viewable on your home computer will be viewable at the library.

**** If you plan to do research in any of the library’s subscription databases or in digital collections from the FamilySearch catalog, remember to bring a flash drive or thumb drive so you can bring images home with you! ****
