Research Nights offer our members a chance to share their questions, insights, and discoveries with other attendees, both in person and on Zoom. Our theme for this Research Night will be Chain Migration.
“Chain Migration”
Our immigrant ancestors often did not come alone. Early immigrants would send for their siblings, parents, children, cousins, and friends from back home. Researching those connections can give a fuller understanding of our ancestors’ stories. This is sometimes called “FAN club” research—looking at our ancestors’ Family/Friends, Associates, and Neighbors. Has FAN research helped you get past any brick walls? What FANs did you focus on?
